Buddies
What is a buddy?
A buddy is a member who has volunteered to help members new and old learn our systems, and find their place in their clans. Whether they need help with systems, finding information, or just getting acclimated to the server as a whole, a buddy's role is to be there and help them navigate the server! A buddy is not an HR, and does not have the authority to reprimand any player.
Please don't be shy if you need help! To reach out for a buddy to help head to your clan's #staff-requests or Clan ooc and ping your clan's buddy roll: EX: @🤝 WC Buddy 🤝
To apply to be a buddy check out our resources bot commands by typing !resources-1 or !resources-2 in our bot commands channel, once you have applied please ping @⭐ Lead Staff ⭐ in our #ask-staff channel
What a buddy needs to know
-
A buddy must have a firm grasp of our rules! A buddy does not need to know every single rule, but does need to be able to find information on the website if they do not know something. As well they must be sure that any information they give out is accurate.
-
A buddy must be friendly, and helpful. This role is meant to offer players who are struggling a person who can devote some time to help them out! It’s easier to do when the person helping is patient and approachable.
-
A buddy must be able to be semi active in the server! We need friendly faces who are active in our community to help those in need of a buddy!
-
A buddy should be on the lookout for players who seem lost, confused, or are not active in their clan. Reaching out in their clan OOCs to see if they need help, without overwhelming them.
-
A buddy will not DM any player unless requested to do so in their clan’s ooc!
What a buddy can do
-
A buddy can answer any questions pertaining to: Systems, information locations on the website, Clan lore (that is established), and other readily available information found both on the website and on the server! Buddies may answer questions in #ask-staff if they fall under these circumstances. [Clan lore answers must be brought to your own clan’s OOC though to avoid clan secrets being revealed]
-
A buddy may start an event thread with a member who is struggling with the systems, or getting started in the roleplay. This is not reserved just to brand new people, but anyone who seems to be struggling! When a buddy event thread is made please ping your clan staff in your #clan-staff-requests channel to let them know an event thread has been opened! A buddy may only have one event thread opened at a time!
-
A buddy can speak with other buddies in the #🤝│buddy-chat to ask for advice/any questions they might have!
If there are ever any questions please don’t be afraid to ping staff in #ask-staff for clarifications!
