Warrior & Healer Code

The Basics
  • The warrior code is what distinguishes a Clan from any ragtag bundle of rogues. It is a set of rules that governs the life of a Clan cat young and old with the authority of countless lifetimes. The penalty for breaking these rules is heavier than disobeying an order from any single leader.

  • There are always cats willing to bend and break rules, of course. Those who break the laws of the Warrior Code will be punished as a leader sees fit.

If you are willing to take this risk and heavy burden, these are your prior requirements:

  • Before breaking any of the Warrior Code's laws, you must inform and receive permission from your Clan's staff members utilizing your Clan’s staff request channel.

  • If you have received said permission, you will need to roll up to 5 Sneaking rolls, 3 of which must be successful, to see if you get away with your infringement or are caught. This must be done before the RP begins. If you are caught, the RP must still happen, but with your character being caught in the act. If you get away with it, you may RP out the character breaking the code without any reprimanding happening.

    • In the case of crossing clan borders there are separate rules for that, please check out Disputed territories to see what those rules are!

  • If you want your character to be caught, then they will automatically be caught.

  • If your character does not care about being caught and is making no moves to hide their actions, it will be up to the Clan Moderators of the territory you are on whether or not the character is caught.

The Warrior Code
The laws dictated by the Warrior Code and passed down generation to generation are as follows:
  1. Defend your Clan, even with your life. You may have friendships with cats from the other Clans, but your loyalty must remain to your Clan, as one day you may meet them in battle.

  2. Do not hunt or trespass on another Clan’s territory.

  3. Elders and kits must be fed before apprentices and warriors. Unless they have permission, apprentices may not eat until they have hunted to feed the elders.

  4. Prey is killed only to be eaten. Give thanks to StarClan for its life.

  5. A kit must be at least six moons old to become an apprentice. Kits cannot leave camp without the supervision of a warrior.

  6. Newly appointed warriors will keep a silent vigil for one night after receiving their warrior name.

  7. A cat cannot be made deputy without having mentored at least one apprentice.

  8. The deputy will become Clan leader when the leader dies or retires.

  9. After the death or retirement of the deputy, the new deputy must be chosen before moonhigh.

  10. A gathering of all four Clans is held at every other full moon during a truce that lasts for the night. There shall be no fighting among Clans at this time.

  11.  Boundaries must be checked and marked regularly. Challenge all trespassing cats.

  12. No warrior may neglect a kit in pain or in danger, even if that kit is from a different Clan.

  13. The word of the Clan leader is the warrior code. Respect should be shared throughout the entire council.

  14. An honorable warrior does not need to kill other cats to win their battles, unless they are outside the warrior code or it is necessary for self-defense.

  15. A warrior rejects the soft life of a kittypet.

  16. A cat’s home should be respected, including their belongings.

The Healer's Code
The laws dictated by the Healer's Code and passed down generation to generation are as follows:
  1. A Healer will never let personal feelings in the way of their duties.

  2. Healers are to stand outside Clan conflict and rivalry; treating every cat with the same amount of care as they would their own clanmates.

  3. A Healer must be able to interpret signs from StarClan.

  4. Healers cannot reject an injured cat.

  5. A Healer must do everything in their power to save a sick or injured cat.

  6. A Healer will give his or her life to save a cat.
