Staff Expectations

Must be an active, friendly, and responsible member on our server.

Is expected to be able to work collaboratively with other staff, both in their clan and out.

Communicate openly with their staff team to manage expectations and boundaries in a polite but direct way. Coming into discussions with good faith.

Must be able to complete tasks in a timely manner, and be able to work efficiently with other staff to get tasks done.

We do not expect staff to prioritize SOTC above life obligations, please communicate openly and respectfully with your teams about availability so that your clans are attended to when life gets busy for others.

Overview
The cool cat who owns the server! Has the last say on server changes, but prefers to function as a lead staff member on any typical day.
Responsibilities

Keepin' things running on schedule and all that.

Bot maintenance & repair of server.

Lead Staff
Overview
A smaller group of staff who have the last word on many larger scale changes, discipline, and other sensitive topics. They are like the heads of their clan's staff teams. Each clan has at least one lead staff member.
Responsibilities

Member application acceptance through our google form, as well as announcing members to the Server and their Clan

Writing Server-wide Announcements
-
Handling Donations to our approved charities.

Handling Staff related management including but not limited to Training new Staff and making the final call on staff discussions if reguired.

Maintain the Discord role list and create new ones as needed.

Processing the Activity Check, including:
Making the Form
Processing member completion
Notating new character slots in the membership backend -
Resetting the Herbs when they are due to roll over

Organize Server-wide Plot & Delegate as Needed.

Managing Buddies.

Channel maintenance including: Name changes, description updates, etc.

Overview
Each clan has their own set of staff who deal with day to day requests. Each team varies in size and availability but all work incredibly hard to make SOTC the safe and fun space it is!
Responsibilities

Issuing Verbal warnings and reprimands

Issuing official warnings, bans, and kicks (Disciplinarians only)

Updates our weather weekly

Maintaining your Clan’s border influence within Google Sheets (In accordance with any events that happen at the borders!)

Suggesting Changes to Website Information

Mentoring members in system understanding and RPing

Will be required to post a staff check in, meeting the three posts a week requirements with any of their characters.

Staff in Training (SIT)
Responsibilities

Accepting their Clan’s characters Info Sheets, and reviewing them with members for potential plot relevance.

Handle Clan-specific requests such as level ups, and allegience changes.

Moderate the Chat, including directing topic changes and refereeing

Creating and updating the Quests Backend
-
Accepting their Clan’s characters from the Clan Allegiances Form through Google Sheets, and announcing to the Clan that a new character has joined them.

Organizing the Adopt command and accepting adopts through the correct method in Google Sheets
-
Maintaining, including making sure characters get added correctly
-
Handling Clan-specific requests to change and update character information on the allegiances

Resetting the Freshkill Pile each Monday

Staff roles
SOTC's Staff team has several roles that our team can take on, to allow our staff to work with their strengths. These roles are all vital to keeping SOTC running smoothly.
🔊 Communicators 🔊
This specialization is for staff who wish to be the face of the server, managing interpersonal concerns, keeping an eye on chats and content, helping members settle in and adjust to our server-culture, promoting activity, and generally being the face of the staff team.
📎 Technicians 📎
This specialization is for staff who enjoy working on spreadsheets, data collection, google forms, dice systems, custom bots, and other backend work. Affectionately referred to as the backend gremlins, they are the backbone of the server that keep our funky systems running as smoothly as they do.
📘 Plotters 📘
This specialization is for staff who want to be involved in creating new plots and events. This is an internal role, meaning it cannot be pinged and is for use in staff categories only.
📫 Disciplinarians 📫
This specialization is for staff who are willing and able to take on disciplining members for serious infractions of inappropriate behavior requiring official warnings or bans. This role is 18+ only, given the nature of infractions that can come up.
