Disputed Territories

Disputed territory patrols help the clans gain temporary hold of certain border territories! They also give cats a unique chance to interact with cats from other clans outside of Gatherings. These patrols can be friendly, or hostile! It all depends on who is a part of the patrols. Here are some guidelines on how these patrols work!

  • Border patrols must have a minimum of three cats, two must be warriors. You must have a patrol ready before claiming the channel for a patrol.

  • Once your patrol has ended in a territory you must wait 24 hours before sending out another one to the same territory.

  • Patrols on the borders can only last 72 real life hours (3 days) from the time in which the thread starter is posted!

    • With this in mind, all border threads will be Fast paced; meaning 6 hours before a reminder ping, and 12 hours before an autoskip to the next person.

  • When a thread has reached its end time, no more posts are to be made! Regardless of if it has been marked as ‘closed’. Anyone who is a part of the thread who notices its time has expired may mark the thread as closed.

  • Within the first 24 hours of your patrol a rival patrol can choose to interrupt, changing the patrol into an EVENT! [Please refer to Our Roleplay Format to see the rules about events] the timer is reset, and the new posting order is posted along with the end day/time of the event patrol! A Clan can only interrupt one patrol at a time.

    • The leader or deputy must be apart of the patrol that intends to interrupt.

  • A thread to gain percentages must have at minimum 3 posts from each participating cat.

    • 10% Border claim will be gained for getting at least one successful hunt in the patrol thread.

    • 10% Border claim will be gained for at least one cat 'marking' a border; can be scratching a tree, rubbing their cheek on a rock, or just a simple mention of 'marking the border'.

  • You must log these gains in your clans RP logs or they will not be counted! Even if your claims have been 'negated' due to an interruption and both patrols doing the same actions, please log the percentage gained.

    • When you have logged this thread ping your staff in that section of the roleplay log!

  • Once a clan has reached 100% claim in a territory they hold exclusive rights on this channel for an entire week!

  • Private border channels do not count towards claims!

    • A specific cat may only have one private border thread a week! The week cooldown starts at the end of the thread.

      • This cooldown is Per cat not per player.

    • Private borders must have at least 2 separate clans present in a thread to be used.

      • Private borders are intended to be places folks can interact cross clan, where regular clan territory channels are intended for the inner clan interactions.

    • A private border thread may only last 7 days before auto timing out!

  • Fourtrees Meadow:

    • In the case of 3/4 clans holding claim, the clan not involved in an interrupted patrol will lose the claim that the participating clans gain. This is true even if the participating clans negate each other’s attempted claim via interruption.

    • In the case of 4/4 clans holding claim, the 2 clans not involved in an interrupted patrol will split the lost claim that the participating clans gain. This is true even if the participating clans negate each other’s attempted claim via interruption

Interlopers & Crossing Clan Borders
  • Interloping is not something that can be done spur of the moment, it must be discussed well in advanced with both staff teams involved. Interloping into a clans territory is breaking the code and is taken extremely seriously! This is something that would have lasting effects and serious consequences for every cat involved based on the clan leaders stance on cross clan relationships and cats crossing borders.

  • If you wish to interlope onto another clan's territory please go to #Staff-Requests and ping both clan staff roles in question to request a thread to be opened up and discussed with the leads and clan leaders of each clan.

    • Please make sure to give a reason why you are trying to interlope, what your overall plan is for the interlope, and any other relevant information! Please understand that if your cat interlopes onto another clan's territory it is breaking the code!

  • Once approval and conditions have been set by the lead and clan leaders within the private thread; proceed with the following steps.

    • If you are going to travel into their territory, you must post 3 posts in the border channel before crossing.

    • Once you've made those posts ping the lead staff of the clan you are interloping to in your post; they will determine where you come in and handle giving you the interloper role and setting up permissions for what channels you will need to see. Roll sneaking for your first post!

      • If an uncomboable sneaking roll is made at any point; ping the staff of the clan you are interloping in with your post so they can prepare an interloping patrol, be aware this could result in a fight!

    • Please note it is possible to accidentally stumble upon a patrol in the territory while doing this.  If this occurs every cat in said patrol will get a free tracking roll upon your cat entering the scene. Staff please be sure to discuss with the patrol that may be interrupted before doing so to be sure they are all okay with the interruption; if agreed upon ask what reactions they might have if they find an interloper and plan accordingly. A fight may break out!

  • If your intention is to make it to a clan's camp this must have been specified with the clan staff before the thread began. Three posts in the interloped channel will be required if this is the agreed upon progression of this interlope!

  • For each post you make in the interloped channel you must roll Sneaking roll to determine if you are found once you have entered into another Clan’s territory.

    • If an uncomboable sneaking roll is made; ping the staff of the clan you are interloping in with your post so they can prepare an interloping patrol, be aware this could result in a fight!

Ways to Claim Territory

Winning a Skirmish +25/100%

  • Please check our Brawling System for how we handle fights! When you have won a full patrol [7+ cats total] skirmish, you gain 100%. When there are multiple cats fighting at a time, we will create extra battle channels to allow people to pair off for the fight.
